Abstract

In TA (Turkish Aerospace), video data is acquired through an analog camera integrated with the KAM₅₀₀ data acquisition system during flight tests. However, low image quality and unsatisfactory clarity of the image are known issues of analog video acquisition. To eliminate the issues related with analog cameras, it is aimed to acquire video data using an IP camera which provides high definition images. The integration of an IP camera to an existing KAM₅₀₀ DAQ system (which includes EBM/10² module to get IP camera stream packages) is explained within a similar bandwidth usage on telemetry system compared to an analog camera video. To address the challenge, this study presents the development of specialized software tools operating independently on both the aircraft and the ground station. These tools parse and reconstruct the received ethernet packets into a suitable format and enabling the generation of a reliable video stream.
