Abstract
In this paper, a vision-guided laser tracking system using a camera-based proportional feedback loop and a scanning laser Doppler Vibrometer (SLDV) is presented. An ArUco fiducial marker is used as a landmark for the system. The ArUco marker is mounted on a linear table that provides translational motion along the -axis. The system detects the centroid of the ArUco marker at each image frame through image processing. Based on the updated centroid position, steering commands are sent to the galvo mirrors of the SLDV so that the laser beam can follow the moving target in real time. To evaluate the performance of the laser tracking system, experiments are conducted utilizing a linear table at a . The maximum tracking error, defined as the difference speed of 24 between the laser position and the marker centroid, is found to be 8 pixels (9.6 , 10 mm/s pixels (12 speed.
