Abstract
We present several skin-close, hybrid Epidermal Electronics Systems (EES) for cardiac monitoring. They combine electrodes for electrocardiography (ECG) and piezoelectric thin-film sensors for seis-mocardiography (SCG). We utilized the near field communication (NFC) functionality of a smart phone to power the systems, to pre-process and classify the data and to transfer it via RFID. Our modular EESs ensure versatility, while providing comfort and high signal quality, enabling accurate and real-time cardiac health monitoring. We demonstrate that the EESs can be used for cardiac diagnosis.
