Abstract
A low-cost (<20 k€) Raman setup using 785 nm excitation was developed for direct online quantification of ammonium bicarbonate in aqueous carbon-capture solutions, where no affordable online sensors currently exist. The bicarbonate band at 1022 cm⁻¹ proved most sensitive and best suited for calibration. Ongoing work will focus on system optimization, ammonium signal extraction, species modeling, and replacing the spectrometer with a cheaper filter-detector setup.
