Abstract
This study examines the feasibility of using Microhollow Cathode (MHC) plasma transducers as contactless, broadband sources for air-coupled ultrasonic nondestructive testing (NDT). To improve the detection of small or weakly bonded defects, the approach integrates Local Defect Resonance (LDR), which amplifies flaw responses at their natural vibrational frequencies.
