Abstract
The main goal of this work was to optimize and, at the same time, improve the analytical performance of ammonium ion-selective electrodes with a solid contact. A carbon nanocomposite consisting of multi-walled carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers was used as the mediation layer. The results obtained for the modified working electrode were compared with the unmodified (control) electrode. The incorpo-ration of transducer media (carbon nanocomposite) not only improved the response of the electrodes but also favorably affected the stability and reversibility of the potential.
