Abstract
memory alloy actuator is described. The temperature-induced bending movement is measured without contact using a 3D laser line sensor, while the activation and transformation state is determined in parallel via the electrical resistance of the embedded shape memory wire. Supplementary simulations are utilised to evaluate the anticipated actuator dynamics and the viability of the measurement concept.
