Abstract

Feature parameter extraction and pattern recognition play important roles on performance of electronic noses. To solve the dilemma between features and original information, combined with a new compressive sensing (CS) theory proposed in recent years, a novel CS based electronic nose framework is proposed and the key technical problems are studied in this paper. Theoretic analysis and experimental results illustrate that gas information can be recognized efficiently and original signal can be recovered from the fewer compressed measurements, which are good representatives of the original signal and can be used as effective features.
